   I have that kit; I think it's fine. I've only ever used PC and Bosch trimmers, though, so I don't have a lot to compare to....I find the PC a little more powerful than the Bosch. Everything in the kit does what it's supposed to; I'll probably add a couple more trimmers and motors only, so you can have everything set up all the time.

   *About 9 trimmers on sale now. Vary in hp from ~.6-1 and weight to about 4 pounds. Functions and quality vary and the top price is about 140$ for PC 310. Not a bad tool and the industry standard, see Routers for appraisal.If you need all trimmer functions (tilt, offset etc)deWalt, Bosch and PC are the leaders, all very competitive. PC 310 no longer with specialized castings. Hitachi, a good buy with tilting base as standard.

   *Hey Adrian, Do you ever use the underscribe attachment for seaming smaller pieces? If so, do you have a problem with shavings getting lodged under the laminate?

   *I have used and abused my PC laminate trimmer for many years and if got stolen today, I'd go buy another tomorrow without hesitation. Great tool. Just a few months ago I tried the slitter that comes bolted in the lid for the first time, and I can't believe how well it works. I had forgotten to measure the height of every outlet off the countertop, and the one in the corner was 1/2" lower than the rest. I had already ripped my backsplashes that 1/2" too wide, and my Virutex slitter can be pretty finnicky. What to do? I took that slitter out of the lid and figured out how to attach it and decided to give it a whirl. Worked slick. You could shave 1/16" off the edge of a piece of plam with that thig if you wanted to. That little router has plenty of power for hinge mortising and light edge profiling too. I rate it right up there with the Mag 77.

   *I've got that kit also and like Adrian, Ive got the Bosch. I like the Porter Cable better. It does seem to have a more powerful motor.Ed. Williams

   *Frank, I'm not even sure if I've used that part for that job. I'm going to have to check. Depends how small you're talking about too....for very small pieces, I usually use a block plane and a bench hook (real high tech).

   Am thinking about purchasing a used Porter Cable Laminate Trimmer kit. Have two router of that make and am happy with them. Wondering if anyone has as opinion on their laminate trimmer, or any other make.
