Ive been using the PC 350 frammer and yes I know its not the top choice but thats what I got so my problem is my pc pancake comp wont drive nails very good, duh… so I went out and bought the porter cable job boss thinking it would do the trick but to my suprise it doesnt do that much better. when tank is full it drives the first few nails good + or – but the thing doesnt start pumping air till air pressure gets down around 80 – 85 PSI and it just wont do. it will nail a few then about 4 to 6 nails wont go in deep before comp starts up again. now I can still take the compressor back and get money back ( whew )if I do it by dec 4th so what I want to know is what compressor are you guys using for your frammers ….help

Dogboy, I'm running a Hitachi twin stack that I got at Lowes. I think it was around $279.00 Don't really remember the exact spec. Think it's a 5 gal 2 hp. I've ran 3 framers off of it at once and never had a problem.
Dave
my next question is Ive also been using the 50 ft small blue air hose cant remember the cos. name but seem to remember its called annaconda ? would the hose dia and hose wall strength be causing problems.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
WOW!!! What a Ride!
Forget the primal scream, just ROAR!!!
The setup should work fine, even with the framer and pancake.
Try adjusting the regulated pressure? Does the gun have a depth adjustment? Is the gun new?
My guess is the limit switch... that compressor oughta run your gun no problem.
I have the PC 350 too, haven't had any problems with it yet. Make sure to use a couple drops of oil before using it daily. Most likely as others said, low compressor pressure.
yes to flexeel
have air pressure at 110
yes to new gun.
might be oil, havent oiled it for last few days....bad dog

thanks guys, keep talking
I'll also check if pressure gauge is working might say 10 but might be lower I dont know. wish me luck today

I've had the exact same set up with the PC FR350 and their little pancake, never had a problem.
I think you either have some blown seals in the your nail gun or somethings "off" with your compressor
the gun seems a lot better after adding oil. Ive been a bad dog and a dumb one too. after adding oil to gun it was able to drive nails at a good rate and sinking them nice too. thanks to everyones help . dogboy .....Carpentry and remodeling
