I need to purchase a good powered caulking gun. I’m not sure whether to go with a cordless battery model or a pneumatic model (I already have a compressor). I’m not a contractor, but I’m doing a major renovation that will involve many uses for this tool. Any recommendations on the best model to buy?
New knowledge is priceless.
Used knowledge is even more valuable.

Get a manual one. Its not that hard tp pump caulking. We've tried every single powered one and they all break fairly quickly.
The Rigid battery model works well and is about ½ the price of the Milwalkee.
I have an air model also, but it uses so much air the compressor can't keep up.
I've got a battery powered Rigid that I've had for about 2 years now. I bought it to fill a large number of big concrete floor joints with Vulkem. It worked great for that since Vulkem is tough to get out of a tube and we had a lot to do. However, since that job we've used it rarely as it is just too heavy to bother with.

get a good manual one, I found a nice plastic one at sherman williams paint store, doesn't rust, has a good fulcrum for stiff goo tubes and has a chopper and poker for the nozzles.
Not sure of the brand but it's yellow and black.
Good pressure rubber thingy relief so when you stop squeezing it doesn't keep squirting.

Sounds like it might be a Dripless brand.

I have been happy with them as well.

I have that one as well. I love it. I also have the pnuematic Rigid from a long time ago...like 1993 or 1994. It works great for long runs. Otherwise, definitely go with a manual."The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a governmental program" -Ronald Reagan
