I would like to put simple wood trim, Prairie-style around the walls of our kitchen/great room, about 1 foot below the ceiling. It will also serve as the upper trim for our windows. The ceilings are 9 ft tall. What type of product should we use? I am thinking about 2 3/4 inch tall trim, oak. How thick? What do I ask for at the lumber store? Do the edges have to be sanded or rounded?
