I’m at the trimming-out stage of rebuilding my front porch, using pre-primed finger-jointed boards from the orange box. It occurred to me, of course after I’d cut and installed most of it, that maybe I should have pre-painted the boards that go over the lattice, since they’re partially exposed to air on the back and will otherwise only be painted on the front, and might therefore be prone to warping.
It’ll be somewhat of a pain in the neck, but I could pull them off, put a coat of paint on the backs and reinstall. Waste of time, or will I bitterly regret not doing so a couple years from now?

Warp? Maybe.
Moisture pushing the paint off the face of the boards or cracks at the finger joints? Probably.
Finger jointed for exterior use, I don't think so unless you plan on doing this project again in the not so distant future.
All six sides of every piece of painted exterior wood should be primed prior to installation.
