I’ve dadoed PT 4×4’s to receive 2X8 rims for a deck and am thinking about treating the cuts before I get to far… Should I treat the dado w/copper… (preservative) so the exposed wood is treated to against rot and critters?

Can't hurt. Some PT isn't as deeply treated as others, I think the outside always has a greater treatment density.
