If you have rock subs like mine, you end up having to guess the amount he’ll need over and above his usual unit pricing to do the job.
His usual unit pricing covers the “standard” house with no curved walls, straightforward ceilings throughout except for some dropdowns in kitchens and baths, etc., etc. Trouble is, I’m not doing any standard jobs.
He is unwilling to take the time to interpret drawings at bid time to price the extras, so I am left to deal with hoping my guess covers what we end up negotiating when all is done.
Do your sheetrock subs help you out better than this at bid and budget time?

Yes, he quotes a firm price from plans or from a walkthrough.
I'd tell him either to let you know what extra charges there will be beforehand, or he can eat the extras.
Actually I'd tell him don't bother, I've found a new sub.Jason Pharez Construction

No. I am in a very small market with the nearest WalMart an hour's drive away. The couple of rockers that work in this area can pretty much do what they want.
