I have tried, oh lordy, how I have tried. I cannot get a local source, and I have tried every yard within a 60 mile radius, for GP’s PrimeTrim or CMI’s MiraTec exterior composite trim boards.
I don’t want Azek or the like. My suppliers all are stocking Azek or Kleer or one another of the cellular PVC boards, and they all have some kind of primed fingerjoint pine, but I want the joint-free composite.
What is out there that competes with PrimeTrim and MiraTec?
Must be something in our Adirondack air that prevents it from coming here. There are dealers right across the lake (Champlain, that is) in Vermont, that stock it. But Vermont dealers won’t come across the pond to do biz in NY, and I don’t want to go over there on the tiny ferry and bring back a load of longies in my 8′ bed pickup.
Any good news?

what's your beef with PVC ?
if it's price, I'm with ya.
never used Primetrim. in fact, I've never even seen it.
I've heard Mike Smith talk it up, but I haven't used it.
we have GP everything here so I'm sure Primetrim is here too.
carpenter in transition
Price. This job's on a budget.
I guess I'm spoiled.
My yard has both MiraTec and Koma.
and Windsor One
Yes, you are spoiled. Your yard has a composite (MiraTec), a cellular PVC board (Kona) and fingerjointed pine with primer on it (Windsor One).
We are dinosaurs here.
Have you looked at Home Depot? I have been buying composite wood (that's what they call it there) from them for about 8 months. I've been paying $25 for 1x8x12', but they also have 1x4 and 1x6 sizes, and I think I saw both 8-footers as well as the 12-footers. The sku on the 1x8x12' I've been buying is 255-022. Hope you can get some. It's a hecka lot cheaper than competitors.
No Depots here. The nearest one is across the lake, over in Williston, VT.
