Problems with Delta *!@@#@!

MrJJ | Posted in General Discussion on September 30, 2005 06:06am

I bought a unisaw under the X5 program (in March), supposed to get free tool and coupon book. Got the free Mobile base, but waited around for coupon book (There are some real good coupons. I can redeem about $1000 worth) Got a letter in july saying ‘Due to extreme demand, we have to reprint more books. blah blah blah. I was supposed to get the book by end of august. Well, it’s the end of september, coupons expire September 31, and still no book. No response to e-mails. I blame it on B&D. Any one else have this happen to them?

    ...coupons expire September 31...

well,  see,  ya got nothing to worry about! -

sorry about your problem tho - sorry to hear the formerly proud Delta name falling down -

I's suggest you make hard copies of your reciepts, letter, emails,  and a timeline and send them to customer service  -

    good luck -

Don't bother with "customer service".Most likely they can't do anything. If it isn't in their check list they don't know what to do.Contact Thomas KoosGroup VPPresident, Consumer Products Group - Power Tools and Accessories.410-716-3900B&D701 East Joppa RdTownson MD, 21286You might call that number and ask to speak to Koos' office (you will never contact him) and verify that he is over Delta and then ask for some one to solve your problem. You will probably be put in contact with the manager of Delta.

        Hey,
Maybe customer service can't help on this one but...I bought a Delta planer about a year ago. Close out shelf model at big box. Someone helped themselves to the brushes, tools. Figured out what was missing, called Delta and enjoyed some of the best customer service ever. When I opened the box received a couple days after my call I even found some extras.Todd

I expect them to do the right thing and extend the coupons, have you asked.

  3. darcy | Sep 30, 2005 04:58pm | #5

Where did you buy the saw?

Go back to the store. They should offer to contact their Delta Rep for you. That's what I have done for my customers, with great results.

It pays to shop a REAL tool store that provides excellent customer service.

    1. leftisright | Sep 30, 2005 06:03pm | #6

Big Box Store and Delta Rep? Ain't no such a thing. Most power tools at the big box are handled by a broker and they ain't gonna fix anything. You should see the truck that pulls up to the Depot dock to pick up all the crap that needs to be fixed. Saw a lot of green (Lawn Boy) lawnmowers going onto that puppy this summer.

      1. darcy | Oct 01, 2005 03:40am | #7

That's why I suggested shopping at a REAL tool store!<g>

        1. leftisright | Oct 01, 2005 05:31am | #8

Well you're prejudiced what with you being a sorta tool rep or something if I recall. I never said Cheapo was a tool store or even an "home improvement" (ha...ha..ha) center either.

1.) She ASKED where the tool was bought. There has been no answer. You ASSUMED it was bought at a big box store, and took the opportunity to rag on big box stores.2.) She then stated that it pays to buy at a regular tool store where you get better service after the sale. Basically, she agreed that the big box stores tool service sucks, without saying it.Then you come back with something about how she is "predjudiced". And how you never said the cheapo was a tool store.Huh ?I don't get it.She didn't say they were. It looks like you have assumed again, and decided it was time to rag on Darcy instead.Get it straight, dude. You don't make any sense, and you come off as someone just looking for a reason to insult someone/something...

          2. leftisright | Oct 03, 2005 06:52pm | #10

Chill out dude, I guess I forgot to put the <g> in there. My point was if it WAS purchased from the big box that there would be no rep for the store to contact. I am a vendor rep at the big boxes and Home Depot has run off all the vendor representation excpet for two "approved" vendors per department. If you want your product in Depot you WILL be reppped by one of these "approved" rep firms.

Is you unrequitted love for DAacy showing through here a bit :o)

          3. leftisright | Oct 03, 2005 06:53pm | #11

By the way..I dont recall you ever saying anything good about the big boxes yerself either.

Wow....you're back to just plain ole' "darcy" for a screenname, huh?  lol

Bob,Things are great. Never been happier in my life! Luka makes a pretty scary golf caddy, doesn't he?darcy

          7. BobKovacs | Oct 04, 2005 04:50pm | #19

"Luka makes a pretty scary golf caddy, doesn't he?"

Yeah, pair him up with Bill Murray's groundskeeper character from "Caddyshack", and you've got the makings of one "Dysfunctional Country Club"....lol

Glad to hear you're doing well- sorry I missed getting to Riverfest- it would have been great to meet you (and all of the other characters from BT).

            Bob

          8. darcy | Oct 05, 2005 04:52pm | #20

You should attend at least one Fest, and who are you calling a character? <g>Are you still in Jersey? I haven't kept up at jlc and last I heard you might be moving to Texas.

          9. BobKovacs | Oct 05, 2005 05:41pm | #21

I'm still in Jersey- will be for a while.  Texas was a dead-end, and we looked at some opportunities in Phoenix as well, which didn't pan out.  For now, I see no reason to move, so we're hanging here.  Besides- when we move, it takes my wife 6 months just to find her way to the mall and back without having to call me for directions every 5 minutes.....lol.
