I am curently remodeling a kitchen. The Kraft maid cabinets are a mess;out of square and poorly fitted.A replacement cabinet just showed up with the frame not glued to the case. The factory rep says that this is unusual. I do not believe him. He is also so busy he cannot meet with the homeowners for three weeks.Has anyone out there had any problems with Kraft maid .

Brian,
I have installed a number of Kraft Maid kitchen cabs, and have found them to be no better/worse than most other brands.

*Brian,I found them to be junk also.KK
*Brian, Your cabinets were built in Middlefield,Ohio in a sweatshop largely employing the Amish. They really push the production schedule, and if some bad ones make it through QC and get returned they just sell them at the return warehouse in Lordstown,Ohio. All cabinets there are $60 (except for a few pantry cabinets)and people line up by the hundreds to get them every Sat. morning, that's where I got mine. The truth is most of the returns are just hinges out of adjustment, plywood chips where you aren't going to see them anyway, etc. But you know what?I've seen crappy Merillat and Aristokraft cabinets too.Send your bad ones back, they'll make it right.
*You have to realize that when you are dealing with cookie-cutter mass produced items a number of them are going to get through the process a little out of whack. Unless they are really FUBAR'd you have to make the call as to whether or not you can or want to repair them on site or reject them and screw up your schedule waiting for replacements. Dinged carcasses, unless on the visible finished areas, and unglued joints can be field repairable.Kraftmaid delivers their own stuff and it's still not unusual to find items that are dinged or even smashed by the delivery handling process. They always make good, no matter the problem, you just have to wait a bit.
