I have a 20 year old maple dining room table that was originally stained and thereby maintained with nothing more than Old English Polish and Old English Lemon Oil. It has been protected with glass ever since. I want to loose the glass and apply a finish of poly. What kind of poly should I use and what other prep should the wood receive beforehand.

The Old English contains silicone, so you're going to have to get all of that off or else the new finish won't adhere properly.
I'm sorry, I thought you wanted it done the right way.
