Hi I’m in the process of building a home with a basement under the garage, using Spancrete. I want to have stairs in the garage that would lead to the basement, I dont have the room to install permanent stair well, its a small 3 car 32×22. I’ve talked to Spancrete, and installing a 2×4 opening wouldnt be a problem. Before I bring it up with the city Building Dept. I thought I would ask here for your input. I would use a commercial grade pull down stair system located on the raised curb area on the back wall of the garage. I live in the Detroit area. I am planning to install a cover over the stairs in the garage, maybe aluminum diamond plate. The total thickness of the floor with the spancrete, floor and curb will be 15″. Height of the ceiling in the basement under the garage is 8’6″. I live in the Detroit area. Thanks in advance for the input |
