I have a 3″ pvc pipe for combustion air. I’ve run it to the soffit where I used a 3″ street elbow to make the penetration through the plywood soffit. So I now I have about 1″ of the street end of the elbow sticking out. Anybody know of a PVC screen type fitting I can get to glue on that or should I just get some screen over the opening. It’s not a big deal since it’s way up off the ground on a dormer soffit, but I thought I’d try to make it look as good as possible.
I almost prefer the lower profile of just screen, but I thought I would look around and see what’s available.

I've seen purpose-made external grilles for this. Kind of like a louvered plastic vent fan exhaust, but with a grille instead of the louvers.
You think I could find one @HD or Lowes or Plumbing supply or HVAC supply or ?
Any thoughts. Thanks -MERC
Go down the plumbing aisle in the local Lowes. With the Shower drains and WC fittings, they have small girlls in 3 and 4 " that glue right into the pipe.
I think that I have heard that it is agains the code to screen the combustion air inlet. But that begs the question is it better to have the inlet clogged or allow insects in to clog the pipe.Anyway I would use some like the strainers used on well pickups. They don't just go over the end, but extend out and have screeing on the sides. So you have many times the surface area than just the end of the pipe.
