Hello all, my house has PVC windows which have integral sills. The sills look to be PVC over wood. I want to re-trim my windows to include a stool and apron. Has anyone ever retro fit wooden sills in a situation like this?
I can post pics if it helps.
Thanks in advance
David

David,
Azek ( or Trimtek) is just like Piffin said,
really neat stuff, I know a glass block guy
that uses it for interior trim in shower stalls.
I just bought 3 sticks , 4/4 x 10 ( sizes like wood
3/4 x 9 1/4 ) it comes 18' long.
Here in Erie it was 75.oo a stick ( whew!).
You can also buy 3/4 x 4 x 8 sheets.
It's worth a look.

That does sound high but figures to about $4/Bd Ft which is comparable to other high quality surfacing products..

Thanks for the replys. I appreciate it!. I think I was unclear in my original post. This is for interior sills and trimwork.
Thanks
David
David,
Bump again,
I just got back from the builder's show and I'm leaning towards starting to use more Azec cellular PVC for exterior trims. It will cut and mill like wood but no paint required and won't rot. You can nail or screw it and I'm betting that the glue they sell for welding it to itself would work to your regular PVC cladding because a regular PVC glue will work on their product too.
Supposedly not too much more expensive than wood and when you consider the paint savings, it sounds cheaper.
