Hi everyone,
I’m new to home improvement in general although I know some basics that I picked up from my father over the years. Recently I moved back home to help my mother out after my father passed away and although it’s a nice house, it needs a lot of love and I want to learn how to do as much of it as I can myself.
My first project is the garage because it is by far the worst. I’ll link to pics if needed when I get home but basically, it was an addition to the house prior to my parents buying it and I don’t think it was done super well. Without going into too many tangents in my first post I’d like to begin by resealing the concrete floor. It is chipping pretty badly in some spots and in others is completely exposed. It’s not one solid slab… it’s kind of like a driveway… so I don’t know if that changes how sealing needs to be done.
Do the folks here recommend any method over another? Are there any resources I can read up on before I start? I did do a lot of looking around online first and have a general idea of what I’m going to have to do and what my options are. Just want some feedback from people who know what they’re doing first. 😀

What do you mean by completely exposed?
Pics may help.
Apologies, I checked the box to have it email replies to me and it didn't for some reason. I'll take some pictures when I get home but by exposed I mean that it looks like it was either sealed previously or painted and it is almost completely chipped away so it's just bare concrete. The garage floor is at least 40 years old and hasn't had anything done to it since.
Thanks, I get more of the idea now.
It sounds like you need some sort of top coat to even things out and make the floor look uniform again. Quickcrete makes a trowel grade coating for concrete that might work. Whatever you do the floor will need to be very clean, probably acid etched and possibly a bonding agent applied first.
I have no experience with this stuff.
