When cutting rafters or joists where they will need to be cut on both ends. I like to have a saw set up at each end. My 8 year old stand by saw (Skill Classic) Is starting to get weak. I was at Wal-mart today. And I noticed they have a Black and Decker Quantum Pro saw on clearance. I started looking at it. It seems identical to a DeWalt. Only difference is its green. Even has the 15 amp motor.
Are these any good? Is it worth $59.00?

I used one for years until it got swiped.
It's OK. Cheap enough. B&D have not had it for years, so it probably got left over in the back somewhere. It's not a DeWalt, but that can be either good or bad, depending.
Buy it.

Kip, I'm a two saw kind of guy too. If I'm doing a lot of ladder work, or cutting long stuff like you mentioned...it just makes sense.

Warning! Be cautious when taking any framing advice from me. Although I have a lifetime of framing experience, all of it is considered bottom of the barrel by Gabe. I am not to be counted amongst the worst of the worst. If you want real framing information...don't listen to me..just ask Gabe!
Ha, me too. Makita or Milwaukee at one end, Saw Boss at the other...a lefty/righty kinda thing<G> Don't worry, we can fix that later!
