I’d like to install some motion-activated porch lights. Is there a way to wire them so that they can be controlled by motion or by manual switches? I’d like to be able to tuen them on from inside the house whenever I need to, but still have them automatically come on when motion is detected during the night.
The man with a thousand questions,
Thanks

Most of them have this function builtin.
If they are on and turn them and back on immediately they will go to forced on.
To reset you turn them off, wait about 10 seconds and turn them back on. Also they will turn reset automatically the next day when the sun comes out. Part of the system that keeps them from normally working during the day.
Check the instructions.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
I was hoping it was a built-in feature, but I've never owned any. Thanks for the response.New knowledge is priceless.

Most of the motion-activated lights have an option to turn them on continuously. The ones I've seen will stay on if you flip the indoor switch on, off, and then on again within a certain time (a few seconds).
BTW, thanks for installing these lights. Many people enjoy looking at the night sky and motion activated lights help keep the sky dark.
