Having some trouble seeing where the time savings comes from. You still have to clean and flux the joints. How much extra trouble is it to apply your own solder?
This is my favorite part, however:

Another tribute to lawsuit-crazy lawyers. And their clients.
I never met a tool I didn't like!

I found out that this refers to the "no more leaks".

Remember McDonald's got sued for millions after this custom spilled coffee on her lap?
I can kinda see how it would help in some mass assembly situations (plumbing a hotel, eg). Probably a multi-head torch could be used on the joints to melt the solder, and you could move along fairly quickly. And they would help in those areas where you can't get a second arm in to hold the solder.
But I can't see how they'd save anything in terms of "prep" -- you still have to clean and flux.
My guess is that DIYs/HOs would like them as an extra 'warm and fuzzy' for getting a complete 360 degree joint. I would consider using them in tight spaces, primarily so I don't have melted solder dripping on my hands, ouch! BTDT, popped the blister.
I just used 2 elbows and a cap last weekend.I had to do a fix and had never done any soldering,I just heared up the elbow and the solder oozed out the joints.I used them and they seem fine, however,I wonder about the quality of the copper itself(being a Home Depot thing) in the long run,Mike
No time saved if you still have to clean and flux, that where all the time is. The solder part is the quickest portion of the event. DanT

You call a plumber lately? (Neither have I, but that's beside the point.) Unless it's an emergency, grab a magazine and stand in line, cause it's a looooonnnng wait.

They have been using pre soldered fittings for years in the UK (known as Yorkshire fittings) In fact 30 years ago one had to ask specifically for capillery and wait while they scratched their heads. Now both are redily available. They seem to work well on hydronic heating and water, though personally I don't see the gain.
