Hi, just found this site although we have been subscribers for years.
Found it interesting that I was lead to a 1992 magazine to research radiant heat flooring and found an article about Hurricane Andrew…I am beginging a remodel due to Hurricane Ivan.
Can anyone give me updates on radiant heat flooring. Our townhouse is reinforced concrete panels. No insulation anywhere. Living level is, of course 8 feet above ground. I am waiting for an insulated roofing system for the flat roof that won’t be available at least until Feb 05 & would like to hear about insulation (probably best to do on the ceiling of the “breezeway” which is the underside of the living area).
We had a hydronic system on slab in our house in Illinois that I absolutely loved, but don’t think it is feasible to raise the floor to the height probably required for a retrofit, and to find placement for a boiler. I am looking at electric. Any experience with it???
