we are installing kahrs floating floor over 50 yr. old terrazo. Room has baseboard hot water radiators. thinking of a few “throw rug” sized elec. radiant pads under the floor simply for supplemental heat (e.g. under foot in kitchen). Seems like we might have to cover pads with self leveling grout. Any thoughts on this concept (radiant as supplemental heat source, and whether grout is necess). Thanks

Did you get a quote for refurbishing the terrazo? In some cases it can be ground and made to look like brand new.
thanks for reply. we haven't explored refinish because the look of terrazo is really too institutional for us (it is weekend home). Prior owner put in approx. 3,000 sq. feet of terrazo, incl. base, steps, etc. We have covered approx. 1,000 so far w/ Kahrs to good effect but thinking of the radiant idea.
