The span tables do not seem to agree. Can I span 23’1″ with a rafter tie that is 2×8 or2x10, 2′ o.c. ? With collar ties and a tie from the collar tie down to the center of the rafter tie? 7/12 pitch. 2×4 walls. 2×6 rafters. 10 lb. snow load. No attic or weight on rafter tie (ceiling joist). 5/8″cdx sheething on roof and composition roof. stay focused, thanks for help, Russ

Select structural could be 2x8
Your more important consideration is the connection between rafters and rafter ties though. A couple of sixteen pennie nails won't do the job
