First comment or observation:
I’m guessing around 90% of all new residential construction around here (iowa) is vinyl siding, so Tannins,surfactants and paints are not present to cause harm to house wraps. Also vinyl siding is so loose that as we’ve discussed before..easy in ..easy out. So I would guess it is safe to say
that a rain screen would not be need with vinyl siding, maybe not even in Seattle? I wish the article would of commented on the different siding materials and relation to need of rain-screen.
How does Fiber-cement siding figure?
