I have a floor drain in a future laundry room that is too deep. The slope makes it difficult to walk over and working around it is not an option. The drain is cast and is in good condition but old and is in a concrete floor. Replacing it all would snowball.
Are their any extensions made for raising this? Can a new drain (pvc) be cut down. The top 2″and placed above the old? I was planning on adding a 2″ deep concrete fill around it.

Seems like there would be a way to remove the grate and add a "mud ring" to shim up the collar, even if you had to make one up.
Then just float to it with feathering floor leveler
