Client has a few cabinet doors where the iron-on edge banding has come loose (about 10yrs old). Doors about 10 yrs old. made of birch ply, edge banding is birch, and finish looks like poly but not sure.
I was going to try to re-attach with iron but am concerned that the finish will cook off. I’ll try an inconspicuous spot first. If re-attaching with an iron doesn’t work, any ideas on a suitable adhesive to reattach?
thanks

If you can pull off the old and the thickness of the new doesn't bother you or the homowner, Fastcap makes a tenacious edge band both finished and unfinished. Several colors in Birch. I've used it on worn edgeband shelves, rails/stiles , dooredges etc and have been satisfied. http://www.fastcap.com/

Gorilla glue will do it.
Use just enough not to have squeeze-out. Masking tape overnight.

How long a minute is depends on what side of the bathroom door you're on.
I have re-attached some lose edge tape with super glue, the gell type, put a piece of tape over it for a few minutes and presto!
