Rebuilding a set of 100 year old stairs. Sloppy rehab job – everything was covered in carpet… Stringers are staying and I faced the risers w/ laun. New pine treads. I was going to use polyurethane adhesive and some 15 guage finish nails to attach the treads – my thinking is to minimize squeaks. This a good/bad idea? Thanks.

If you have some matching material to make plugs, use screws set in 3/8" forstner holes and then plug 'em... lot less squeaks over time than with nails.
Yes construction adhesive, personally Id use a heavier finish nail, but they are truly just there to hold pressure while the glue dries.
Check the carriage hangers/ attachment to the wells, thats a spot that can be in bad shape, cause squeaks, and if you add support can really work wonders.
