This morning I started a thread about the Sherriffs in a nearby county busting a nationwide tool theft ring. They have a warehouse full of recovered stuff they’re looking to return. I thought that posting it here was a public service to anyone who’s had their tools ripped off.
That thread has been deleted, and I’m wondering why. Is it because of the link to the Sherriff’s web site? Whatever I did wrong, I’m sorry. But I’d like to know what it was.

It's still showing up for me in the "Tools for Homebuilding Section."

Did you check using show "items of high interest to me?" in the drop down menus on the left? Might show up that way for you.

The thread came up on my computer - under "tools".

John,
It is still there. Depending on how you have your forum preferences set up, once you start, or read a thread, if there is not any other responses to it, you will not see it again. Once I turn off my browser, then come back, it will be gone unless someone else responds to it.

I bumped it so it'll show up on the 'Unread Messages'. Below is the link you posted to the Sherrif's website.

A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship...
But it is not this day.

Thanks -- They must have moved it, since I started it here in General Discussion. When I did a search for "Ventura County", it didn't come up. So I started this thread.
I'd love to hear that somebody here got their gear back as a result of this work by the Ventura Sherriffs.
