I’m Doing some decorative railings to my own house for a change and I have decided to use redwood which my lumber yard had for a good while and price went down ! Does any one have any thoughts about redwood ! I’m going to be painting it and yes I know its a beautiful wood but I got it for its resistance to rot qualities I’l be using cabots problem solver oil based primer and 100% acrylic latex for paint !

I've had problems with redwood "bleeding" even after priming twice with oil based primer. Suggest you try out a few test pieces and let them sit ouside for a couple of months before starting to paint the whole project.
*Lisa Thanks for the input I'll definetly try that! My Painter , also a close friend says I have to use Cabots problem solver two coats and he says I won't have a problem! Was it cabots you used? Thanks again
*Steve - No it was not Cabots. Cabots is great stuff, though. And we only did one coat - two is a better idea. Sounds like you have a handle on it - hope it goes great!
*Gosh! It looks like you're really excited about this! I guess this is exterior! What fasteners and/or glue you intend to use! Otherwise, it paints up real nice!
