Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone out there could recommend a few titles on Period Restoration. I’ve seen quite a few ‘restoration’ books out there, but they seem pretty vague, and are geared more toward the home owner.

I guess what I’m looking for is detail. ie. these techniques were used during this period. These types of nails were used during this periods, that sort of thing. I don’t want a book that is going to explain to me how to replace a clapboard, or replace broken shingles.

There are an lot of old places around here that folks are willing to pay big buck to restore. They want the work to be historically accurate, and someone who is very knowledgeable in this area is very valuable. Not to mention I really enjoy this type of anal detail.
