About three and a half years ago I built a deck onto the house and promptly finished it with a popular “water seal” product for protection. We found that the product left the surface somewhat sticky and tended to ball up along with the dust, even after it was cured. It is now time to refinish the decking and I’m not in a big hurry to reuse that same product. Any suggestions?

Fred-What product did you use? On my PT deck of almost 18 years, I use Thompson's Wood Protector every couple of years and have had good results. Last year, I even treated the deck to a nice power washing before putting on a new, thin coat. Too much will turn things too dark, and sticky. Bob
