My house was built in 1958 and has 3/4 white pine tongue and groove paneling in the kitchen and den. I think all it has is polyurethane, but the finish has turned dark over the years. I removed one section of cabinets in the kitchen and the wood underneath is beautiful. I need some ideas on stripping or sanding the finish off. The boards run vertical and are approximately 8″ wide, 6″ of it is smooth and the other 2″ are beaded. Thanks.

while the finish has certainly yellowed/ambered with age, the nature of pine is that the wood itself has done so also. it will require sanding to get down to lighter, whiter wood.
