I got a flyer in the mail for the “Remodel Your Business 07” seminar. Moderated by Mike Gorman. In one day, they are supposed to cover:
(from the website)
1.How to use the three most effective, least expensive ways to get the phone to ring and find new clients who will pay your price.
2.How to write your specifications and contracts and maintain job files to avoid conflicts during and after construction.
3.How to help your clients discover on their own that price is not the most important consideration when selecting a contractor.
4.How to make the remodeling process simple for the client to understand so that they abandon resistance to buy.
5.How to handle the customer who wants to pick your prices apart.
6.How to collect deposits and payments so that you don’t get stiffed on that final check.
7.How to get paid for the ‘free estimate.’
8.How to master an organized estimating system for building new homes and remodeling either manually or with a computer.
9.How successful contractors are using computer software to systemize their business and become more profitable while having more free time.
10.How to ‘ration your services’ so that you work smarter not harder.
11.How to gift hundreds of tax dollars to your client or yourself (for free).
12.How to determine in advance which of those people calling for an estimate are most likely to buy your service at your price.
13.How to determine a fair price for your work and get your prospects to buy it.
14.How to get your clients to spend as much as 40% more on each remodeling project, according to research by Harvard University.
15.How to stir a deep interest in your clients about Energy Codes and Conservation.
16.How to educate your client about what they need to know to make a wise choice of contractors.
17.How to create and manage the 3 most important systems you need in your business to be successful.
18.How to insure that you won’t need to be working as hard in five years as you do now.
19.How to apply the hottest new niche in remodeling to allow you to increase profits while customer satisfaction soars.
20.How to estimate, design and create specifications and contracts more efficiently than ever before, even while managing multiple jobs.
To anyone who has attended (or knows about), is this worth the $225? I could use some help in the estimating/bidding department, which looks heavily hit on in the syllabus.

I say that is a lot to cover in one day, so the depth of discussion is at question.
On the other hand, I see you have been here for just about two years and your number of posts id quite small.
Do you suppose that you may have learned more by asking more questions here? I have learned SO much it is really unbelievable.
I say it's all here, you just have to read and ask.
Best wishes.
