This finished basement has only 2 walls underground, the rest is above grade. The area was flooded years ago due to failed drainage.
The exterior source of the water has been corrected with a complex series of perimeter drains, retaining walls and foundation coating.
It is now time to correct the damage done on the interior, mold remediation and refinish.
My concern is handling any water that may come from below the slab, condensation and or through the walls.
I live in Vermont. In my research I have read many conflicting articles about correct methods of refinishing basements. In reading Andy Engel’s article about the “Stay-Dry, No-Mold Finished Basement” his Techniques suggest that the basement be dry already. How do I get that done?
Can dimpled plastic be used under the ridged foam? Or should I pour another thin slab over dimpled plastic first?
Thanks.
