We recently bought a house that has Pergo in the kitchen. I am in the process of doing some minor remodeling that involved removing a small cabinet in the corner of the kitchen. There was no Pergo under the cabinet. Now I want to fill in the area with some matching Pergo. I have removed the “partial” pieces of Pergo that had been cut to fit around the cabinet. I am now ready to insert the new pieces, but both the “tongues” and the “grooves” of the existing pieces have particle board residue from the old pieces that I removed. Does anyone know of a method to clean these up to accept the new pieces? I was thinking of a router bit, but I can’t find one that would even come close to being the right size and shape for cleaning out the “groove”. My thought was that if I could find a router bit to clean the groove, then I could carefully use the same bit to make one pass to clean above the tongue and another pass to clean below the tongue. I welcome any suggestions.

A nice sharp paint scraper blade. They have different shapes available.
Contact a pergo distributor. They have bits available for repair. Registration of that cutter is the key. Best of luck.__________________________________________
