What did you use for the expansion joints? How wide and deep are they?
*where do you live?most climates the expansion joint will be fine by itself..if the spec calls for caulk and you are using a typical asphalt impregnated 1/2 x 4 expansion joint... then set up an old saw with a masonry fiber blade.. cut it only deep enough to comply with the max depth spec'd by the caulk..(most will be 1/2 deep)a lot of caulks will not span 1/2 in width.. so make sure you caulk will flex and fill to the finished depths and widths you will achieve...most of our control / expansion joints nowadays, we cut in with a diamond blade on a grinder the next day....
