I have just pulled up 525 square feet of carpet that was glued down over a 3/4 inch plywood floor. The carpet was probably applied in 1995, or about ten years ago. The glue is yellow in color. It has some elasticity to it, but is firmly attached to the plywood. It seems that almost all the glue remains on the plywood. Scraping without damaging the plywood is practically impossible. What is the best way to remove this glue so I can put down a hardwood floor??
Thanks.

Why bother removing it? Either skim over it with floor leveler, put 1/4" luan over it, or just put the hardwood right over it. It shouldn't be more than 1/8" thick, so it's not going to throw your floor out of whack.
