I will be building a new wood front porch and need to remove the old poured front porch. The house was built in the 70’s and the foundation is block. I want to jackhammer the porch out but was wondering how it might be attached to the block foundation. Can I just jackhammer up to the foundation without damaging the foundation or should I cut the porch first and then jackhammer it out? Thanks for any help.

It MAY be sittng on a brick ledge..that would suck.
It may just be poured up to the block, that is a better thing for you.
Either way, have at it.

Sometimes it's possible to build over such a thing and hide it behind lattice, etc.
