I’ve got a customer with an arched outside doorway, that he wants to trim with Azek. I looked at the price of the heating blankets, and its way more than I want to spend for just one job. And I don’t see me using it a lot anyway.
Does anyone have one I can rent for a day? Preferably somewhere in or near NJ?
Thanks.

I've only needed to bend PVC boards a few times, but I have had good luck just building up a steam box.
The last one was 12' long made by ripping 12" strips of 3/4" CDX and screwing together to make a long square tube. Put some dowels through holes drilled in the sides to support and seperate the the pieces.
I cut a large hole in the center of the bottom and placed it on top of a pot of water on a propane turkey cooker.
Let it steam for a while, pulled it out and formed it in the arch needed.

For 1 piece check w/ you yard most can order prefab made for almost any window or door set up, usually have it within 1 week, way cheaper than the blankets especially if you don't do much work w/ Azek
Shep,
I built my hotbox also. Some metal drawers and a heater out of a HLV with a flex metal recirculate pipe. About 2 hours and $4. Works great.

Just a thought but how about asking the yard for the local Azek reps phone number. Call him and ask him to come to jobsite with it (they all have them in my area)and demo it for you. Who knows after seeing his you may want to get one and do more.
buy a 10" metal duct and a 8' elecrtic baseboard heater and a length of plaster lath corner that is flattened out. Hardwire the baseboard heater into the electric panel. Just cover the ends of the 10" diameter tube with a few towels to help keep the heat in.
I'm forgetting the cooking times, but it is not much. The back side tends to get the texture from the expanded lath, but it shouldn't hurt.
If you wer closer to me you could have it until the next time I need it, probably never.
