I made a small ‘ding’ in a client’s acrylic tub, just barely through the gel coat. What’s the best way to repair it?

Go to your plumbing supplier and get the number of a "Tub Doctor". The 3 different factory authorized operations I have come in contact with over the years have all been great. Usually they can get to you in under 2 weeks. Unless you live in a very remote area, you should have the same luck.
They fill, polish and buff to an invisible repair. If this is a new tub, you could look closer and find a factory or supply house blemish. They will fill yours as part of the warranty repair.
There's a company that supplies tub/showers that I usually order the Tub Dr. repair at the time of delivery of the unit as I know there will always be a blem that needs to be taken care of.
