I am replacing half of the subfloor in a room in an old house. The subfloor looks to be old pine or spruce and is 7/8 inch thick. The local lumber yard (who usually has EVERYTHING…and delivers) doesn’t have anything that is 7/8 to replace the current subfloor. Has anyone else run into this? What have you used? 1/2 ply on top of 3/8 inch ply? If you are using plywood, what grade would you recommend?
Thanks for your thoughts.
