While installing some new windows on my 1960’s era house, I wanted to replace some of the John Mansville brand structural fiberboard under the old siding. Some spots were deteriorated and I wanted to replace others that the original builder used scraps instead of full sheets. I was unable to find this product on Mansville’s website. I did find a similar product from Georgia Pacific called “Stedi-R Fiberboard” (http://www.gp.com/build/product.aspx?pid=6056) but their distributor said that this was a special order product and it had to be ordered with a 95 sheet minimum order. Does anyone know of a similar product available at lumber yards that I can use to replace some of the existing fiberboard? I only need a few 1/2″ sheets.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

There's no real benefit to fiberboard other than it's cheap. You'd get more strength with oriented strand board or plywood, both of which are readily available.
