I considering ripping out the radiators in a remodel job and running PEX in through the stud bays of a room below grade. I have several questions regarding whether or not this is a good idea…first, is this a good idea??? what are the potential issues anybody sees with this….the reason for doing it would be to save a little floor space.
The walls are 8″ block with 2X4 non bearing interior walls. I am planning on insulating with R-13 fiberglass and running 3/4″ HePEX right next to the sheetrock.
The entire downstairs is on one zone. What do ya’ll think?
I have experience with radiant tubing in a pured slab and have run PEX for potable water before so installing it would be fairly easy.
