I have a garage with storage space underneath – it has an entrance at street level, and then the ground slopes down next to the garage.
Inside, one half is flat, and then the ground slopes up in the other half. The sloped portion is covered with 6-mil plastic to keep the moisture down.
Because of the angle of the slope, soil comes off the top of the slope and breaks the integrity of the vapor barrier.
I’m looking for a way to stablize the slope and perhaps give me a vapor barrier that’s better than the plastic at the same time.
Ideas?

A few things come to mind... build some retaining walls under there out of the keystone style blocks. Or, get a good vapor barrier down and then pour a few inches of concrete over it. I can't see how steep it is, but I bet I could do a real sloppy job of it with :-)
