Hi all
just wondering if anybody has any good ideas on how to retro fit (install) 1×4 trim trim with faux sill on a cedar shingled house. I’ve always cut with a trim saw and fitted piece by piece but I’m sure somebody has a better way.
Many thanks

I measure the OSM of the window frame and add 1/4" to height and width. Then I build a frame with the trim and attach the sill at the bottom. I use pocket screws to fasten it all together. The I attach the frame to the home and caulk the top and sides leaving the bottom open to let any moisture or water out. I do this for every window I replace all at once. It definately goes faster this way.
