Well, now in California we have to put in all fluorescent lighting in kitchen remodels (at least if you pull a permit!) . So, the problem is I want to use recessed can lighting, but can’t find fluorescent fixutures that give off enough light. The ones I find at HD or Lowes are either 13W or 26W, neither of which give more than accent-level lighting IMHO. Some of the reason for that may be that they are spotlights and rely on the trims’ cone reflection.
I’ve found some commercial fixtures that are higher wattage, – but at $250 per, not what I had in mind.
Any one know of some retro-fit FL cans that can handle over 26 watts, or that can handle Fl spotlights?

SOP here is to install a flourescent POS. As soon as it passes inspection, replace it with what the HO really wants. Carefully pack it away, and re-use the same flourescent POS job after job.
