Has anyone had an opportunity to use the new patinated copper from Revere that they brand Freedom Gray?
It works like plain copper but soldering it is a bear. They want you to use lead free solder with a flux with high tin content. They also don’t want you to use flame to solder, even locked seam 20 oz. seams, but rather 3 to 5 lb. hand coppers.
Anyone had any experiences or suggestions ,their tech rep was out on Friday, but I’d like to hear about any real world knowledge if someone can help.
Thanks, from a newbie to this site.

First, I quit using terne metal when they switched to Terne II because it was so hard to solder. If I remember correctly, Freedom Gray is a similar coating to Terne II.
Secondly, I would never use an open flame to solder locked seams. I've seen two historic buildings burnt down by roofers using open flame to solder. Get some 5 lb coppers. Good luck.
You're almost as paranoid as the people that're trying to kill me.
