Can't you just use the LCC, then pee on it a lot and yer done?
Lead coated won't turn green in our time on Earth .
Customer may want green from the starting gate , not wait 20 years .
I found a quick way to get the patina on copper. A light spray of laundry bleach turns copper green fast. We used some copper panels in cabinet doors a few years ago, and came up with that solution. A little goes a long way. Not sure if that's a solution for your customer.
Thank you -- that might be a way to go .
Walter
You can use salt as well. Salt in a slury."There are three kinds of men: The one that learns by reading, the few who learn by observation and the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."Will Rogers
OK, you seem to know your stuff, copper related. How would one clean bird #### off a copper bay window roof ? The birds sit on the gable end peak of the roof, and the white stain (urea) drives my Mom nuts. Seems to have etched the copper.Any ideas ?Thanks !Greg
I haven't but imagine youd want to wire wheel where ya have to flux. Sorta like repair work on old joints or spot patches.

Duane ,
Thats what the website says to do . Just wondering how much #### you've got swirling around to clean it for flux and solder to take .
Revere says you've got to treat it really carefully cause of the dust coating .
Not sure I want to experiment on those 6 eyebrows !!
Walter
Yeah. experimenting on a hunk of scrap is one thing, 6 brows isn't the place to learn the pitfalls.Maybe a misting of ruby fluid out of a spray bottle would green it up enough for the HO? On standard CU that is.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

uane ,
I'm going to ask my supplier if they have some samples that I can experiment with . The more I think about it the less desirable this is sounding to me .
The extra cost could be quite a bit due to all the futzing around with this stuff .
Walter
And consider how usable is all the triangular hunks of waste? Is it recyclable as #2 or less? Can ya use it elsewhere?I think those considerations would also sway me.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

The builder wanted to offer a choice to the owner . I'll figure leftovers as having no value , even though I bet some steps could be saved for future chimney flashings .
I think the up charge to use this stuff will be quite a bit if they decide to go ahead with using it .
Walter
Walter,
Are you looking for something to expedite the oxidation process?
I can ask the chemist here if you are in need of some specific info.

Oh, you'd want my services as the philosopher for that gambit! The chemists are too rational for any flights of fancy like that.'Man who say it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it' ~ Chinese proverb

Steve ,
I quoted those 'brows with lcc . The builder called mr yesterday to ask if there was any product that was green to offer a choice to the owner .
I'll know more today of what they want .
