Contact the ridge vent supplier, and see what they recommend.
Do the rafters hang on the ridge or bear on it? If they hang, about a 1" gap should be good enough. A big router with a champher bit between each bay can do the trick . You can also drop the beam an inch . If you have top flange hangers then you won't be able to drop the beam.
If the rafters bear, then you might rip the ridge blocks an inch short. Leave a gap in the plywood sheathing at the top. Is edge nailing is required at the ridge? You will have to use two blocks per bay instead of one in the center. then you can drill the blocks at the top with 1" holes. My engineer said 3 holes per block should be good enough. Don't forget to insulate the space between the blocks before you sheet the roof.
The beam could be dropped its full height and the rafters set fully on top of it if this is attic space instaed of a cathedral ceiling. Otherwise, I wouuld just drop the beam an ich so the rafters top out high enough to leave the air flow. I would not notch the beam with a router.

spray the insulation in the rafter bays (isconyne) and forget about any roof ventilation in that area. It seems to be the ideal insulation for shed roofs and cathedral ceilings. I had the same sit. in my house.....so far I'm pleased
I love that stuff.
