I should ask at Knots , but I wanted to run it by here first.
Ridgid 14″ Band Saw.
Thinking of adding the riser IF it is even an option,,I didn’t look extensively as of yet.
If it IS an option, I will have a LOT of new and slightly used blades..the new size will be 106″ IIRC.
A 14″ is 93 I think or 92.5..whatever they are, the saw has enough wheel travel that it don’ t have to be exact as long as it is a 14″ Tiawanese or Delta type saw copy..
So, if anyone knows where to get the block that will work and wants the pile of bands I have..I am all ears.

I don't think there is a riser block. Is it a BS1400, or BS1401?
I looked here: http://www.ridgidparts.com/wood/stationary/BS14000.phtml
Wish I could help you out, I need some bands for my 14" Jet.
OK, here it is. Says invalid number when I see if I can buy it.

Read the reviews, sounds like it works OK, with a little re-engineering.
Ding ding ding! we have a wiener!
Ok, you get the prize ( willing to split with Bob?)
Lemme order this sucker and see where I stand.. can't part with the blades if I have a problem getting it to fly with the riser OK?
Cool..it seems it is 1/3rd the $ of the rigid? Wow!
Ok,I;ll fess up..I was gonna bolt a 4x4 hunk in there and call it good..LOL Not such a good ideer ...Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I also see the Jet jrb-14 kit works. The blades are readily available for use with a riser block. Free blades! Whoopee, I only have one blade now.
I might still have your addy from the nail box..but TBS, email me.
I'll at least send ya a working blade to hold ya over..I have plenty..a lil rusty, but that wears off fast.
You CAN sharpen BS blades with a dremel..turn it upside down on the saw and put the dremel and grindng wheel in a vee block.
Grind a gullet, pull up the next gullet, repeat. You lose some set, but in a bind, two maybe three more uses before its garbage.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Amazon has it.http://www.amazon.com/ACC-RIDGID-RISER-BLOCK-BS1-RYOBI/dp/B000P8MNKCThis guy needed $100 from a machine shop to modiy it. But others and other was able to order the Rigid kit from HD for less than $60.http://www.ridgidforum.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-8141.html.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
I think the first link is the wrong thing.
The rigid forum did have the part right I think

I have one broken blade and two oem blades of questionable worth. Mark did the homework to help you solve your problem and therefore earned the treats. Happy to take any rejects from him. (;-) I need to get with a local machine shop and get them to weld/silver solder mine.
That Amazon deal looks pretty good, considering it includes a blade. I have enough Amazon certs to pay for that.
Bob
Don't even waste the $ on OEM blades..
Tiberwolf, and Olson are pretty good .. NO V/A yuck.

Have you tried the Woodslicer blade, from Highland Hardware in Atlanta ,Ga ?
best resaw blade I've found so far, IMO better than the TimberWolf.
Yup. Pricey, but great blade. I think it was last year I got a 3/4" and it was on the saw through woodburning season...I lop up scrap on the BS for kindling, and can trash a blade pretty quick.
It has held up fine even after mis-treating it.'I figure with the large gullets that is one blade that can get sharpened a few times.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I have the original gray Ridgid BS and I found the Ridgid riser kit at HD on Clearance for $15 a few years ago. Works great and is nice to have, even if I don't really need all that capacity - I sometimes use the bandsaw to trim odd things and having the height helps.I also heard that other riser kits work - google the question and you'll find where someone else has already asked and been answered.JT
Thanks. I have not used it much at all. I have one of the cheapie 9" ones that I can get to easier. For most little things it does pretty well. Need to get the shop set up and get the Ridgid tuned up and in place to use.
Cool. I can't get a $ to come up, but if and when I can get it figured out..I'll get some blades your way..
I ain't gonna be resawing max. But I have a LOT of good stuff that I am not willing to rip down to 5.5" to resaw..Avoidire, Lacewood, and Brazilian Cherry..all 8'' +/- .
Lets see what it costs and (fingers crossed) if I have enough motor to slice 8".Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

How much for the blades? Bob
I have on of the last gray Ridgid 14" saws.
Mark may have beat ya to the punch, but as my dear buddy DDoud says "there's enough for everyone".
Free..just pay for mailing. Maybe I can split the pile in half? Maybe 15 or so blades, most are 1/4 or 3/8 bimetal..some sharper than others at least 2 brand new in the box. For now. Y a nver know when I may break one or hit a railroad spike.
I gotta see what the riser cost and decide if the 105" blades are readily obtained..I HATE making up blades and lost my silver soldering jig in the shop fire.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Yeeeowzaa..ALL freekin day to find that so far ONLY ONE place can locate a riser block and its over 150 bucks. F-that.
I swear off ridgid tools after yet another fiasco..thier web site sucks, they answer the phone wanting a conference # ( whatever that is) and No human..Home Depot was just as bad..no one knew what to do even with the part # ...
Toolsdirect.com fared the best by finding the one place that has it..but 3x the price of the grizzly that may or may not fit..I'll have to see if Jet or Delta will work I guess..
I'll still send a blade or two for your trouble.

I'd be tempted to get the Griz, or Jet block. Send the blades after you get the block working, just in case it doesn't work out. And thanks a lot for the offer, I needed something to do last night anyway, no big deal .
