What do they mean "41% faster than an ordinary framing saw"? The RPM of the blade isn't much different, and I can't see any reason why you could push this saw through lumber faster than another saw.
On the other hand, I can imagine a nice 6 1/2" saw being a useful tool. I used a Japanese only model of Hitachi in around that size a while back. Nice saw, and it had a great rip fence, and a bevel guide to make really clean cuts.

you know on the package it has some other interesting claim, but it does have a real nice feel to it.
sounds like the P-C SawBoss
i asked this in another thread with no response but has anyone tried this with the ez smart?
You had to ask...
i couldn't resist! lol!
With the EZ smart you HAVE to buy a 8000$ festool circ saw.....

Looks interesting. Will try to heft one at HD.
Anyone out there own one? Have feedback? Blade left model for us on the Left Coast?
I am looking for a smaller saw. The stuff we do doesn't normally require that I drag the Bosch along. The 18v Bosch cordless leaves me underwhelmed.

i know they do not make a blade left, just the right, at least for now anyways.

As Shep said,if you want a blade left in this weight category, the PC Saw Boss is a very good saw. Comes with a dust collection set-up too. It comes in at 9 lbs -- one lb more than the ridgid.http://www.amazon.com/Porter-Cable-345-Boss-6-Inch-Circular/dp/B00002269C********************************************************

I'm the kind of guy that does hours of research and compares every tool before I purchase. I saw this tool for the first time at Home Depot and bought it on the spot. Very well made with great controls. Super light weight and excellent feel and ergonomics. The site of blade is as good as I have seen on a blade right sidewinder. Got it to the job and cuts smooth with lots of power. Comes with two blades (one high quality framming blade). I can see using this saw a lot. I typically buy Makita, bosch, Hilti but this thing looked rock solid and is designed very well. Why use a 15 lb beast to cut stuff an 8 lb feather can do with ease.

I have been eyeing that saw too, funny thing is the 18 volt saw is on display right next to it and they are identical except for the battery attaching area.

I had a Fuego... it was fun to drive with that turbo.
Wasn't that a Renault?
Maybe someday I'll know a little something.
Anybody got one yet?
Review or comments, looks like a great little saw for roof sheeting. Need some feedback before I pick one up.__________________________

RIDGID 6.5" COMPACT FRAMING SAW – FUEGO
I have been looking for a smaller, more compact saw for some time. Most of what I do nowadays does not involve framing a house. For that I have the Bosch 7.5" direct connect. Which, at 15#, is overkill for the little stuff I am doing.
I yielded, once again, to Tool Temptation. (If anyone knows of a sale on Makita LXT 600 kits, I will happily yield yet again.) Went and bought one of the Fuego saws at HD.
Not bad. Comes with a nice Codura carrying bag and two blades – 18 and 22 tooth. I have now made a grand total of four cuts on a 2x4. Does a nice 45 bevel.
The saw is more comfortable in my paws than the other one in the running – the PC Saw Boss, blade left. The handle on that felt a bit rough – enough that I did not buy one some months ago.
The blade right can compliment my Left Coast blade left Bosch.
FEATURE SET – Reading off the box, I shall extoll the saw’s virtues, as listed. Time will tell the truth.
8 pounds (vs 15 for my Bosch)
120v, 12 amps
Arbor = 5/8,
Cut capacity: 2-1/8 at 90, 1-5/8 at 45, 1.1/2 at 50
18, 22 tooth blades, carbide
Ratcheting lock levers that can be secured in multiple positions
External access to brushes
full length front and rear kerf indicators (That’s a new one. Painted white.)
Magnesium upper and lower blade guards
Integrated dust blower (Does seem to keep the line clear.)
Ergonomic wrap around soft grip handle
Ergonomic shock absorbent pommel handle
Composite shoe – designed to withstand a one story drop. (Anyone want to test this – with their saw?)
Lighted plug (Nice feature)
12’ all rubber cord with cord wrap (FWIW - Their extension cord products are excellent – very high end.)
0-50 dg bevel with 45 dg positive stop. Cuts 2x material at 45dg in one pass. (Done that.)
Plywood ID system on the thickness scale.
Lifetime service agreement
In short, a decent feature set and not a Horace Homeowner saw. Horace might do well to get one. Ladies might like this one. Often thought that our Habitat chapter, with a large collection of Skill 77s, should get some smaller saws. 90 percent of what we do can be done with this saw.

Well, yeah, and whose fault is that? :)
My full size DeWalt 369 is 9.5 lbs. And I can buy any kind of blade I want locally.
got the saw boss and love it for basic cuts. but try to get a masonary blade for it...its hard to find. but other than that its a nice saw

I believe that is one of those Right Coast saws with the blade on the wrong side.
On the Left Coast we have manly (15-17#) saws and manly men to man them. They are great for developing the deltoids and muscles of the upper back. A great exercise is to do lateral raises with a pair of them. Enough of that and you can look like our Governator. The ToolBear

I knew that.
Here in the Midwest, we prefer to exercise our brains instead :)
And we don't care what side the blade is on, we're ambidextrous. Can Arnie say that? Am-bi-dex...never mind.
Have fun!

Saw that thing yesterday and it has what looks like a little blower fan that, in theory should blow dust from the cut line. Now if only they made it a wormy left blade, Hmmmm?__________________________

They have a plastic wing at the forward end of the fan cage that directs fan air across the cut line.
I was cutting today. Now, can I remember if the line was clear? I can't.
I do recall with some joy that it has positive detents for the main plywood sizes. The ToolBear

I second your comment about the Ridgid extension cords. Just picked up a 100' 12/3 cord...really nice, as far as those things go.

Try the 10/3. Very nice. Handles like a silk cord. Lot of fine conductors in there vs. other cords I have that will stand in the corner.
Costco has been carrying a line of 12/3s that are rather supple. I bought two for the Bosch saw. Cut one into two 50s. Other is a full 100'. In the AM I pick the cord of the day. The 50' is the default cord. The ToolBear

so what do you think after using it? is the hype justified?
I have the Saw Boss. I lkie it well enough, but between the smaller blade and the higher RPM, I find it a little hard to control when making long cuts on plywood. It tends to wander.
