Ridgid insulation on slab w/ radiant
I will be installing radiant heat to an existing uninsulated concrete slab on grade. I had planed to lay 1/2″ Dow Tuff-R w/ 5/8″ CDX plywood on top. Then install Wisbro Quicktrak ,Top it all w/ 2 1/4″ Quarter sawn white oak, & creamic tile. My questions is will the ridgid insulation hold up under the weight of the floor, furniture & traffic. I would hate to have cracking tile & gapped floors. If not what can I use as a thermal break, The existing slab get Ice cold in the winter.
Any input would be great!
